STRAIGHT MO’ THUG NIGGA RETURNED FROM THE CLAIRE

In the past few days I’ve been in Tulsa, I’ve been getting some really good amounts of time to finish up some projects I’ve been workin’ on for a while.  One thing I’ve been trying to complete recently is a mixtape of rap songs that sample video game music, and I was giving the (I think…) finished product a listen today, and I just couldn’t resist giving you all this little preview because it’s one of the more surprising ones I came across.  I never would have guessed that the background for this track was from an old Sega fighting game.

Bone Thugs-n-Harmony – Eternal

Eternal Champions Character Bio Theme

I’ve been a big fan of Bone Thugs for a long time, and this song is from the album of theirs I’ve probably listened to the most, but like I said before, the idea that the beat to the track that lends part of the title to the whole album would have this unusual origin never crossed my mind.  Is it possible that Bone named their whole album after this Sega game?

There’s actually another song from that same Bone Thugs album that uses some different music from that same game, but you’ll have to buy the mixtape when it comes out to see which one…

Damn, nice. Love Bone and all the music from that game is killer. Never knew that’s what the sample was from.
